Market Update
· Poultry weights are still heavy, but demand has also picked up some. Breast meat has leveled out and actually pick up a little momentum.
· Higher beef prices have created more poultry retail ads. The trend could continue in the short term.
· Breast meat trade levels are 3-5 cents better than last week, but the end of the month is getting near.
· Whole birds and WOGS are the hot item right now, also bone in dark meat is in good demand.
· Jumbo wings are struggling, but medium and small wings are still short of needs.
· Thigh meat availability seems average and pricing hasn’t changed much.
· As weather improves, pricing should increase too.
· Overall the industry is in decent shape!
